DEAR LISTENERS

This Sunday, the first Local Distortion show of 2011 will also bring you 2011′s first block of special programming: “Zeroes and Ones: The Radiohead Conspiracy.” The albums OK Computer and In Rainbows will be played in their entirety, but in a format that you may not have considered before. Legend has it that these albums are part of a collective work that is only attained by alternating tracks from either album, starting with OK Computer, with a 10 second crossfade. The results make for a truly incredible listening experience. If you haven’t tried it before, tune in Sunday at 7pm to hear the entire playlist, with some fun Radiohead trivia flanking the music.

From Puddlegum.com:

Consider that In Rainbows was meant to complement OK Computer, musically, lyrically, and in structure. We found that the two albums can be knit together beautifully. By combining the tracks to form one playlist, 01 and 10, we have a remarkable listening experience. The transitions between the songs are astounding, and it appears that this was done purposefully.

The lyrics also seem to complement each other. There appears to be a concept flowing through the 01 and 10 playlist. Ideas in one song is picked up by the next, such as “Pull me out of the aircrash,” and “When I’m at the pearly gates, this will be my videotape.”
