Interview by: Marisa Young & Julia Gawle WRBB sat down with John Nolan (guitar and vocals) and Mark O’Connell (drums) of Taking Back Sunday at Warped Tour in Mansfield July 19th. Check out the interview below! WRBB: So you guys have been on the entire Warped Tour this year; you’ve also been on this tour in the past, correct? Mark: Yeah, well we just did it in 2004. We did the whole thing in 2004 and then the whole thing this year. Oh so it’s been a while. How are you liking it this year so far? John: Pretty fun, so far so good. Yeah. It’s a grueling tour. But, uh, it has been fun. The shows have been good. Have you had a favorite spot so far that you’ve played in? John: Chicago was really good. I mean just on this tour in particular, just that crowd stood out to me as being very good. Mark: New Jersey, we always do pretty well in New Jersey. John: And we’re about to get into the New York kind of, uh, territory, more so than we have been. And we’re anticipating big things, big things. And that’s hometown for you guys right? Mark: Yup hometown. John: Hometown. Hoping for big things there. Mark: Big things, big things coming our way. But we can’t get too excited there because then they let you down. John: Inevitably. When is that? Coming up this week? John: Uh like two days from now. Mark and John: Philly and then Long Island. So you’ve got what, two more shows to prepare? Mark: Well like one more, not counting today. John: (laughs) I don’t think we really need to prepare. We’re pretty prepared set wise, show wise, we got it down at this point. (laughing) I hope so!
