Lady Jams (now hosted by DJ VJ and Butterball) is returning for its 9th semester to continue spreading some good lady tunes. We focus on different genres each week (eg. punk week, funk week, disco week, 90s R&amp;B week) to highlight the ladies that deserve recognition. We're hoping to help diversify people's playlists in a male-dominated industry where women and people of other marginalized gender identities are often not taken seriously.

Lady Jams with DJ VJ and Butterball has been making a space for music made by people in marginalized gender groups for several years now. We've found it's easy to fall into a pattern of male-only artists, especially in a world where those are the ones most revered; this is a space meant to break that pattern and shine a light on the other artists who should either be recognized as historically influential or are breaking new ground.

Lady Jams has been on air for over two years, carving out a space for womxn representation within the male dominated music industry. We hope to bring attention to lady jams in genres from R&amp;B and hip-hop to punk and indie, since we know from experience how easy it is to fall into a pattern of male-only artists.
